“Make sport everyone’s game” – 17 May – IDAHOBIT in Skopje celebrated

On the occasion of 17 May – International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia – IDAHOBIT 2017 Subversive Front in collaboration with Stonewall federation of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands Embassy in Skopje organised a friendly football match where players were LGBTI and non-LGBTI people in order to empower the participation of LGBTI people in the sports arenas.
The competition was held in the sports hall “Jane Sandanski” – Skopje on 21 May 2017.


The event was attended by representatives of the British Embassy including Ambassador Mr. Charles Garrett, Dutch Embassy including Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Andri van Mens, the Swedish Embassy including Deputy Head of Mission Anton Irekvist, representatives of non-governmental organizations and individuals from the LGBTI community. Support was by expressed dozens of fans from the stands.

The Rainbow Laces were given to players as part of the campaign “Make Sport Everyone’s Game” implemented by the Stonewall federation in the UK, to reduce homophobia in sports.
At the end of the contest participants from the British Embassy brought a cake in the colors of the rainbow.
